Perlsago is a fine-grained nutriment in the form of grains or pearls, made from partially agglutinated and particularly swellable starch. At Müller’s Mühle, Perlsago is a pearl tapioca, a product industrially derived from tapioca or manioc starch. Manioc is a tropical plant, whose thick roots provide starch.
Perlsago is ideally suited as thickener for fruity deserts, e.g. cold sweet soups, red fruit jellies, casseroles and sweet soups. Pour directly into boiling liquid, bring to a short boil and leave to swell for approx. 10 minutes.
